No. 2 Hawkeyes Complete Fourth-Quarter Comeback to Defeat No. 16 Miami (OH), 2-1

The second-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team rallied in the fourth quarter, scoring two unanswered penalty-corner goals to secure a 2-1 comeback victory over No. 16 Miami (OH) on Friday at Lakeside Field in the Midwest Challenge.

EVANSTON, Ill. — The second-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team rallied in the fourth quarter, scoring two unanswered penalty-corner goals to secure a 2-1 comeback victory over No. 16 Miami (OH) on Friday at Lakeside Field in the Midwest Challenge.

Miami (2-2) opened the scoring at 26:54 when Toto Scarlatti redirected a pass toward the crease and scored. The RedHawks maintained the lead until midway through the final quarter.

Iowa (5-0) broke through at 50:51 when Téa Fortpied scored off assists from Reine van Hoof and Amber Millard-Smith to tie the game.

The Hawkeyes quickly capitalized on the momentum, taking a 2-1 lead at 54:56 when Dionne van Aalsum netted her eighth goal of the season off assists from Rachel Herbine and Fréderique van Cleef.

Goalkeeper Abby Johnson made two saves and earned her fifth victory of the season.

OF NOTE
- This is Iowa's third come-from-behind victory of the season.
- Dionne van Aalsum is now three goals shy of fifth place on Iowa's all-time career goals list.
- The Hawkeyes improved to 13-1 all-time against Miami (OH).
