IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa field hockey fourth-year student-athlete Dionne van Aalsum has been named NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week, the organization announced Wednsday.
Van Aalsum powered the Hawkeyes to a pair of ranked victories over the weekend, scoring three goals and netting the game-winner in each contest to lead Iowa past No. 16 Miami (OH) and No. 14 Louisville.
The Castricum, Netherlands, native is the NCAA's active career leader in goals with 75. She is currently tied for second place in goals per game with 1.67.
The Hawkeyes return to action Friday, Sept. 18, opening Big Ten play against Indiana at 5 p.m. CT in Iowa City. The game will be streamed on B1G+.
