Kristinsdottir earned the distinction following a tie for fifth at the Badger Invitational on Sept. 13-15 at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis. She finished at even par with a 54-hole total of 216 (69-76-71).
The Reykjavik, Iceland, native opened the tournament with a 3-under-par 69 before closing with a 1-under-par 71. Kristinsdottir posted two under-par rounds and earned the first top-five finish of her collegiate career.
Kristinsdottir helped the Hawkeyes finish fourth in the 16-team field with a 54-hole total of 878 (289-297-292).
Kristinsdottir is the first Hawkeye in program history to earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, as the award was introduced during the 2025-26 season. She is Iowa’s first Big Ten weekly honoree since Riley Lewis was named Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Week on March 8, 2023.
Iowa returns to action Sept. 28-29 when it hosts the Diane Thomason Invitational at Davenport Country Club in Davenport, Iowa.
