IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team released its schedule for the 2026-27 season on Thursday, as announced by head coach Sasha Boros. The Hawkeyes will host 11 duals at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex during the spring season.
SCHEDULE NOTES
- Iowa has eight dates on the fall schedule, opening the season at the ITA All-American Championships from Sept. 19-27. The squad will later compete in the ITA Central Regionals and Sectional Championships.
- Iowa will head to the Omaha/Creighton Invite on Sept. 25-26 before later traveling to the Rome, GA Invite on Oct. 23-25.
- During the spring season, the Hawkeyes will face six opponents that qualified for the 2026 NCAA Tournament – Notre Dame, Arizona, Michigan, Washington, Maryland, and Ohio State. The Buckeyes advanced to the Final Four while the Wolverines advanced to the Sweet 16.
- Iowa’s spring opener is set for Jan. 18 at home against Butler, while the Big Ten opener will be played Feb. 27 at home against Minnesota.
- The 2027 Big Ten Tournament will return to Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, from April 22-25.
Iowa returns three letterwinners for the 2026-27 season. The Hawkeyes welcome five freshmen to the team, Emerey Gross, Macey Howes, Clare Schaefer, Mia Soso, and Rioko Umekuni. Also added to the roster was Purdue transfer Ida Clement.
