Soso Concludes Play at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – University of Iowa Women's Tennis first-year student-athlete Mia Soso concluded play at the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday. 

Soso battled through a three-set match on Saturday, but fell to Sofia Maria Barbulescu of Richmond, 1-6, 7-5, 1-6. She continued in pre-qualifying rounds on Sunday, dropping a hard-fought consolation match to Kenna Erickson of Baylor, 3-6, 4-6.

"It was exciting to get back on the court and start the season with Mia at All-Americans," Iowa Women's Tennis head coach Sasha Boros said. "She definitely had chances in both matches, and comes away knowing how strong the level of college tennis is and what we need to work on as we get back to Iowa City. It was a good experience for her and I think she’s hungry to get back to practice and get ready for ITA Regionals."
