2 Hawkeyes Finish in Top 20 at Bluejay Invitational

Third-year Jack McCarty and first-year Joey Scott both notched top 20 finishes at the Bluejay Invitational on Tuesday at Shadow Ridge Country Club. McCarty tied for eighth, while Scott tied for 19th.

OMAHA, Neb. — Third-year Jack McCarty and first-year Joey Scott both notched top 20 finishes at the Bluejay Invitational on Tuesday at Shadow Ridge Country Club. McCarty tied for eighth, while Scott tied for 19th.

McCarty shot five-over-par in the third round on Tuesday, bringing his tournament three-round total to an even par 216 after his record-breaking 65 in the opening round.

McCarty was tied with Creighton's Owen Price entering the final round. Price went on to claim the medalist honor, while McCarty tied for eighth.

Scott tied for 19th after shooting two-over-par 74 in the final round, bringing his tournament total to four-over-par 221. Scott’s 221 and 19th place finish are both career bests.

First-year Cody Weaver tied for 36th, carding a 17-over-par 233 for the tournament.
