Hawkeyes Release Complete 2026-27 Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Head coach Tom Brands released the complete University of Iowa men’s wrestling schedule for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday. The Hawkeyes will host seven duals inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena this season. Times and television designations will be announced at a later date.

Notes about the 2026-27 season:

• Iowa opens the season at home facing Bellarmine on Nov. 13. The Hawkeyes also host Iowa State (Nov. 22) and Oklahoma State (Feb. 21)
• The Hawkeyes will travel to Pittsburgh (Dec. 4) for a nonconference road dual. The Hawkeyes will also make the trip to Northern Iowa to wrestle the Panthers for the first time since 2011 as Journeymen Wrestling presents “Dual in the Dome”.
• Iowa will kick off 2027 at the Soldier Salute, held Jan. 2–3 at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.
• The Hawkeyes host Michigan State (Jan. 10), Northwestern (Jan. 22), Ohio State (Jan. 24) and Nebraska (Feb. 12) in Big Ten duals at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
• Iowa travels for league road duals at Illinois (Jan. 15), Wisconsin (Jan. 30), Penn State (Feb. 5) and Rutgers (Feb. 7).
• The postseason begins at the Big Ten Championships on March 6-7 in Columbus, Ohio, while the 2026 NCAA Championships will be held from March 18-20 in St. Louis.

Iowa has led the nation in attendance in every season of Brands’ tenure. Attendance totals were not tracked during the 2020-21 season because most venues did not allow spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hawkeyes have averaged more than 8,000 fans for 17 consecutive seasons.

Iowa won 12 overall duals, including five in the Big Ten, in 2025-26. The Hawkeyes placed fourth at both the Big Ten Championships and NCAA Championships, earning a team trophy for the 50th time in program history and recording the program’s 71st top-10 NCAA finish. Iowa also had seven All-Americans, its most since the 2020-21 season.
