MEDINAH, Ill. – University of Iowa women's golfer Eva Kristinsdottir broke the program's 36-hole scoring record and tied the 18-hole school record during the opening two rounds of the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club on Monday.
Kristinsdottir fired rounds of 66 and 69 for a 9-under-par 135, breaking the previous 36-hole school record of 136, set by Madison Dabagia in 2024. Her opening-round 6-under-par 66 tied the program's 18-hole record, previously achieved by Lea Zeitler in 2021 and Dabagia in 2024.
Kristinsdottir finished the day in third place individually, four strokes behind Minnesota's Mariana Mesones, who leads the field at 13-under par.
As a team, Iowa is tied for 10th place with Charleston and Texas Tech in the 15-team field with a 36-hole total of 581 (+5). The Hawkeyes opened with a 4-under-par 284 before posting a 9-over-par 297 in the second round. Missouri, Indiana and Illinois share the team lead at 560 (-16).
