Hawkeyes Finish Second Round at Fallen Oak Collegiate

The University of Iowa men’s golf team carded a 306 during the second round of the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, improving seven strokes from Saturday’s opening round.

BILOXI, Miss. — The University of Iowa men’s golf team carded a 306 during the second round of the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, improving seven strokes from Saturday’s opening round.

The Hawkeyes sit in 15th place heading into Monday’s final round with a 619 total (313-306).

No. 1 Arkansas leads the team standings with a two-round total of 579. LSU’s Daniel Hayes sits at four-under-par, moving him to the top of the leaderboard individually.

Third-year Jack McCarty had Iowa’s top round of the day, shooting a three-over par 75.  He is currently tied for 46th place with a 151 total. Fourth-year Maxwell Tjoa is also tied for 46th after firing a four-over par 76 on Sunday. 

Second-year Bennett Warren finished four-over during his second round. He is tied for 80th place with a 159 total.

The Hawkeyes will conclude the tournament Monday with a 9:50 a.m. (CT) start. Iowa will also begin competition at the Zach Johnson Invitational with first-year Cody Weaver and third-year Ryan Shellberg competing as individuals beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
