IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa fourth-year offensive lineman Kade Pieper has been named to The Sporting News Midseason All-America team, it was announced Wednesday by the publication.
Pieper was also named to the Associated Press Midseason All-America first team last week, while also being selected to the Lombardi Award Midseason Watch List. The o-line as a whole was also named to the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll.
The Norfolk, Nebraska, native has started 19 consecutive contests at guard, dating back to the start of last season. The Hawkeyes have rushed for 200+ yards in three games this season, highlighted by a 422-yard output in Week 2 against Northern Iowa — the seventh-most rushing yards in a single game in program history.
In that contest, the offensive line paved the way for three 100-yard rushers, marking a first for the program since 1983. Iowa has totaled five 100-yard rushing performances this season, including a season-best 208 yards from fourth-year running back Kamari Moulton in Week 6 at Washington.
The Hawkeyes are averaging 31 points and 403.2 yards of total offense per game in 2026. Iowa's rushing attack is churning out 194 yards per contest, while the offensive line has surrendered just five sacks through the first half of the 2026 season.
No. 15 Iowa (5-1, 2-1) returns to action at Minnesota (4-2, 2-1) on Saturday in a battle for the traveling trophy Floyd of Rosedale.
