IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa fourth-year quarterback Hank Brown was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by the Big Ten Conference office.
Brown led the Hawkeye offense in a dominant 30-0 victory over No. 25 Wisconsin last Saturday in Iowa City.
Brown (6-foot-4, 218 pounds) threw for 222 yards, completing 20-of-24 passes (83.3 percent) with two touchdowns. His scoring strikes—both from 4 yards out—went to tight end DJ Vonnahme and wide receiver Tony Diaz.
The Nashville, Tennessee, native started 7-of-8 for 90 yards and a touchdown in the opening quarter. He finished the first half 16-of-18 for 190 yards and two touchdowns, marking the most passing yards by a Hawkeye in the first half of a game since Nate Stanley threw for 212 yards against Illinois in 2019.
Brown registered three explosive completions of 45, 45, and 23 yards against the Badgers. It marks his second game this season with three completions of 20 or more yards, joining the Michigan contest. Brown has totaled 10 completions of 20+ yards in 2026.
Earlier in the day, Brown was also nationally recognized as one of the Manning Stars of the Week.
Brown is the third Hawkeye to earn Big Ten weekly honors, joining kicker Caden Buhr (special teams) on Sept. 14 and return specialist Braeden Jackson (freshman) on Sept. 28. Brown is Iowa’s first offensive player to earn the weekly honor since running back Kaleb Johnson on Nov. 4, 2024.
The No. 21 Hawkeyes (6-2, 3-2) return to action Saturday, traveling to Evanston to face Northwestern (6-2, 3-2). Kickoff is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. (CT).
