IOWA CITY, Iowa — Two University of Iowa women’s soccer student-athletes earned Big Ten postseason recognition, the conference announced Tuesday. Third-year Berit Parten was named Second Team All-Big Ten, while second-year Alli Macke received Iowa’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
Parten becomes Iowa’s first forward to earn first-, second- or third-team All-Big Ten honors since Alyssa Walker in 2021. The Hawkeyes have now earned second-team recognition in four consecutive seasons, dating back to 2023.
The St. Paul, Minn., native earned her second career Big Ten postseason honor after being named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2024. Parten appeared in 18 matches with 17 starts in 2026, logging 1,210 minutes.
Parten led the Hawkeyes with a career-high 21 points and seven assists, while matching her career high with seven goals. Her seven assists were tied for fourth in the Big Ten.
Macke, an Ankeny, Iowa native, appeared in 16 matches, making nine starts and logging 797 minutes. The midfielder recorded two goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal in the 67th minute of Iowa’s 1-0 upset of No. 10 UCLA on Oct. 22. The victory marked Iowa’s first win over the Bruins and its first top-10 victory since defeating No. 6 Arkansas on Aug. 14, 2025.
The Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate sportsmanship, ethical behavior, academic achievement and good citizenship outside of athletics.
