Hannah Draxten is in her first season as a student assistant coach. Draxten was a member of the women’s basketball team for three seasons before chronic back injuries forced her to give up playing. Draxten will remain with the team for her senior season as a student assistant coach.

2010-11 as a Redshirt Sophomore…
Played in 24 games… Academic all-Big Ten selection… given team’s Coaches Award… suffered through back injuries for most of the season… recorded season-high 12 points in win over Bradley (Nov. 16)… tallied six points and four rebounds in win over Kansas State (Dec. 5).

2009-10 as a Sophomore…
Competed in only four games before missing the rest of the season with a back injury…academic all-Big Ten selection… saw first action of the season against West Virginia (Nov. 27)… scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds in win over Drake (Dec. 20).

2008-09 as a Freshman…
Competed in 30-of-32 games off the bench; missed the UNI game due to a minor back injury… her 23 triples rank fifth-best in a single-season by an Iowa freshman… grabbed four rebounds or more seven times.

High School…
Was a varsity starter since eighth grade, starting 131 consecutive games for Fergus Falls High School… was the team’s leading scorer all five years… holds the all-time Fergus Falls High School records for scoring (2,364), 3-pointers (223), rebounding (1,041) and assists (368); season records for points (562), 3-pointers (65), rebounds (282) and single-game marks in scoring (36), 3-pointers (8) and free throws (16-16, 1.000)… three-time Minnesota Coaches Association Class AAA first team all-state selection… three-time all conference selection… St. Paul Pioneer Press first team all-state and Associated Press second team all-state honoree… 2008 McDonald’s High School All-American nominee… 2008 Miss Minnesota Basketball nominee… selected to play in Minnesota Coaches Association All-Star series… two-time team captain… boasted career averages of 18.1 points and 7.9 rebounds… led her team to a 23-6 record, a Section 8AAA title and her high school’s first-ever state tournament appearance her senior season, averaging 19.8 points and 10.4 rebounds… named to the all-state-tournament team… academic all-state and all-conference as a senior…played AAU basketball with freshmen teammate Kamille Wahlin on North Tartan where they were 2007 Minnesota state champions… also lettered in soccer, cross-country (all-conference, team captain), track (all-conference, state track meet participant)… boasted a 3.98 GPA and is a National Honor Society and student council member… an ‘A’ Honor Roll student… 2008 Minnesota State High School League Arts, Academic, and Athletic award finalist… Homecoming Queen… accepted into the University of Iowa Honors program in pre-business for 2008 and winner of the University of Iowa National Scholars Award.
