2008-09 — went 1-3 in collegiate competition at 197 pounds, posting a 3-9 overall record… placed sixth at Northern Iowa Open while competing unattached… also wrestled unattached at Duhawk Open and Midlands Championships, and attached at Harold Nichols Cyclone… posted an 0-1 dual record… letterwinner.

2007-08 — season record was 7-9 at 184 and 197 pounds… went 2-5 in dual matches, scoring 10 team points in dual competition… went 1-2 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena… scored four major decisions and two pins… placed fifth at Kaufman-Brand Open while wrestling unattached… also competed at Midlands Championships… shared team Coaches Appreciation award with junior Daniel Dennis… letterwinner.

2006-07 — posted a 4-9 season record while competing at 184 and 197 pounds… 184-pound runner-up at Kaufman-Brand Open… went 0-6 in dual meets and 0-5 in Big Ten duals while filling in for injured starter Dan Erekson at 197… was 0-1 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena… letterwinner.

2005-06 — redshirted… posted a 5-6 season record at 174 pounds while competing unattached… placed seventh at Spartan Classic… also competed at Kaufman-Brand Open and UNI Open.

High School — career record was 114-14… won three sectional, two regional and two conference titles… NHSCA all-American senior year… three-time all-conference and all-area selection, earning team MVP honors as a senior… placed fourth in Greco-Roman at 2005 Junior National Championships… three-time member of Illinois Freestyle and Greco-Roman National dual team… lettered four years in wrestling and one in football… coaches were Craig Fallico and Dennis McCann.

Personal — born March 20, 1987… son of George and Diana Loera… his father wrestled at Iowa from 1975-76.
