2018 — Cross Country – competed in all six races… ran collegiate best at the Big Ten Championships (25:05.2-8,000 meters)… finished in the top-25 at the Hawkeye Invitational (19:09.0-6,000 meters) and Woody Greeno Invitational (25:47.0-8,000 meters)… academic All-Big Ten… letterwinner.

2017 — Indoor – led team in 3,000 meters (8:21.33) and 5,000 meters (14:48.04)… won 3,000 meters at Iowa Open (8:21.33)… ran mile at Border Battle (4:31.57), 3,000 meters at Larry Wieczorek Invite (8:29.00) and 5,000 meters at Meyo Invite (14:48.04)… Outdoor – ran 800 meters (2:02.90) and 1,500 meters (3:58.83) at Baldy Castillo Invite… Cross Country – ran collegiate bests at Hawkeye Invite (18:46.7-6,000 meters), Bradley Invite (25:05.4-8,000 meters) and NCAA Regional (30:35.69-10,000 meters)… one of six Hawkeyes to compete in all six races… letterwinner.

2016 — Indoor – did not compete… Outdoor – redshirted… ran 1,500 meters at Kip Janvrin Open (4:03.21) and Jim Duncan Invite (4:03.78), and 3,000 meters at Musco Twilight (8:43.53) while competing unattached… Cross Country – ran season bests in 6,000 meters at Hawkeye Invite (18:50.1), 8,000 meters at Regional Preview (6th-25:38.0) and 10,000 meters at NCAA Regional 32:15.2)… letterwinner.

2015 — Cross Country – competed in five of six races…ran season bests at Early Bird Invitational (6,000 meters/19:32.2), Bradley Pink Classic (8,000 meters/25:23.8), and Notre Dame Invitational (five miles/25:57.3)… letterwinner.

High School — three-time all-conference selection in cross country… named all-state and team MVP junior and senior season… placed ninth at state cross country meet senior year… member of winning state cross country team sophomore year… three-time all-conference selection in track and field (1,600m)… all-state selection in 1,600 and 3,200 meters senior year… member of a two-time all-state 3,200-meter relay that placed fourth and second his junior and senior season.

Personal — born September 7, 1996… son of Mark and Chris Hesse-Withbroe… has four younger brothers, Joe, David, Jack, and Robert… human physiology major.
