2009 – Named all-America Scholar-Athlete… academic all-Big Ten… finished first in the all-around three times… earned three personal bests at home against Nebraska and Minnesota…posted three season bests at Oklahoma… qualified for the NCAA Championships in all-around… posted 12.85 on pommel horse at NCAA Championships for a season best…led team on parallel bar (14.20), high bar (14.50), and all-around (84.05)… winner of 2009 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award… received Iowa Coaches Appreciation award… team co-captain…letterwinner.

2008 – Earned three personal bests at season opener Windy City Invite… tied for fifth on horizontal bar at Windy City Invite with a 14.35…placed third on parallel bars with a 14.05 against Illinois-Chicago…scored a 14.60 in parallel bars to place first against Michigan…was one of two Hawkeyes to compete at the Winter Cup in Las Vegas, NV…placed fourth on parallel bars with a 14.50 against Nebraska…letterwinner.

2007 – Finished first in the all-around three times… posted a season best record in the all-around at Illinois, scoring a 50.95, for first place… placed eighth in the Big Ten Championships in the all-around with a 50.75… one of four Hawkeyes to compete in the Winter Cup… holds the team’s top returning score on three events: rings (9.45), parallel bars (9.00) and horizontal bar (9.10)… scored a 9.35 on floor exercise at Michigan for fourth place… recipient of the Coaches Appreciation Award… letterwinner.

High School – Qualified for the U.S. Championships in 2004 and 2005… finished ninth All-Around at the 2006 JO Nationals… crowned Florida State champion on vault… Jr. National finalist on parallel bars, rings and floor exercise… member of National Honors Society in 2005-06…coached by Mark Nelson at the Sun Country Sports Center.

Personal – Born 10/13/87… his brother, Tom Buese was a letterwinner for Iowa’s gymnastics team… son of Amy and Mark Buese… economics and French major.
