Hawk Item — Has the tenth-fastest time in the UI record books in 100 fly (48.00)… competed at the 2016 USA Olympic Team Trials in 50-meter free.

2017-18 Honors — 2017-18 — Swam to an NCAA “B” qualifying time in the 100 fly (48.16) at the Big Ten Championships… ranked fourth on the team in the 100 and 200 fly.

2016-17 — Swam to season-best times in 100 fly (48.09), 200 fly (1:49.44), and 50 free (20.49)… had the fourth-fastest 100 fly time on the team… swam to a NCAA “B” qualifying time in the 100 fly (48.09).

2015-16 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten honoree. 2015-16 — Swam a collegiate best time in 200 fly (1:49.44) at Big Ten Championships… was second on the team in 200 fly and third in 100 fly (48.47)… had season-bests of 20.48 (50 free), 47.61 (100 free), 50.74 (100 back), and 48.47 (100 fly)… member of the team’s third-fastest 400-medley relay… scored in the 200 fly, placing 23rd (1:50.98) at the Big Ten Championships.

2014-15 — Swam to an NCAA “B” cut qualifying time of 48.00 in the 100 fly… posted collegiate-best times in the 50 free (20.27), 100 free (45.54), 100 back (49.90), and 100 fly (48.00)… 50 free time was third-best on the team… top time in the 100 fly ranks eighth all-time… member of team’s fourth-fastest 400 medley relay (3:25.63)… letterwinner.

High School — Qualified for four events — 50 and 100 free, 100 fly and 100 back — at Junior Nationals… won the state title in the 100-fly as a junior and senior… set the Iowa state record (47.84) and earned first-team all-state honors in the 50-free… as a sophomore, Hemmingsen was the District Swimmer of the Year earning first-team all-state honors in the 100-fly and second-team honors in the 50-free as a sophomore and freshman… school record holder in three events — 100 fly (47.84), 50 free (20.56) and 100 back (52.54).

Personal — Born Aug. 20, 1995… son of Rob and Cheryl Hemmingsen… has one brother, Luke… majoring in electrical engineering.
