Hawk Item — Finished his career as the school record holder in the 800-free relay (6:20.84)… also was second all-time in 200 fly (1:44.18), fifth in 400 IM (3:50.10), sixth in 200 free (1:35.83), seventh in 500 free (4:21.20), and 10th in 200 IM (1:48.08)… had four top-10 relay times in school history.

2019-20 Honors — Recipient of Iowa Swimming’s Team MVP award. 2019-20 — Posted NCAA “B” qualifying times in the 200 free (1:35.83) and 200 fly (1:44.18)… led the team in the 200 fly… scored in two events at the Big Ten Championships, placing fifth in the 200 fly (1:44.37) and 18th in the 200 free (1:35.83)… also a member of the team-leading 800-free relay that set a school record, posted an NCAA Provisional qualifying time and placed fifth at the Big Ten Championships… swam collegiate bests in 200 free (1:35.83), 200 fly (1:44.18) and 200 IM (1:48.08)… swam season-best times in 50 free (21.00), 500 free (4:31.95), 100 fly (48.79).

2018-19 — Posted an NCAA “B” qualifying time in the 500 free (4:21.20), 200 fly (1:44.72), and 400 IM (3:50.10)… led the team in the 500 free and 200 fly and ranked second in 400 IM… placed sixth in the 800-free relay with a school-record time of 6:23.07 at the Big Ten Championships… was 11th in the 500 free and 24th in 400 IM at Big Tens.

2017-18 — Posted NCAA “B” qualifying times in the 200 fly (1:46.35) and 400 IM (3:51.60), ranking second on the team in both events… scored in three events at the Big Ten Championships… was seventh as part of 800-free relay (6:28.93) and placed 13th in 200 fly (1:46.87) and 18th in 400 IM (3:51.60)… swam to career-best performances in the 50 free (20.91), 100 free (46.05), 200 free (1:38.51), 500 free (4:25.69), 1,000 free (9:24.26), and 200 IM (1:51.50)… swam to eight individual event victories.

2016-17 — Swam to collegiate-bests in 200 fly ( 1:49.50), 400 IM (3:59.20), 500 free (4:27.69), 50 free (21.87), 100 free (46.46), 200 IM (1:56.25), and 1,000 free (9:30.51)… ranked second on the team in the 1,000 free and 400 IM.

High School — Placed fourth in 500 free and seventh in 200 free at California state meet as a senior… placed fifth in 500 free as a junior… two-time conference champion, winning the 200 free as a junior and 500 free as a senior… also was runner-up in 200 free as senior and placed sixth in 500 free as a junior… high school coach was John Kunishima.

Personal — Born April 27, 1998, in Anaheim, California… son of Steven and Christina Tenney… has two older sisters, Alyssa and Danielle… majoring in mechanical engineering.
