2020-21 Honors – Academic All-Big Ten. 2020-21 – Posted NCAA “B” qualifying times and career-bests in the 100 back (46.78), 200 back (1:42.95) and 200 IM (1:45.94) at the Big Ten Championships… led the team in the 100 back and ranked second in 200 back and 200 IM… scored in three individual events at Big Tens, placing 10th in 100 back (46.82) and 14th in 200 back (1:45.94) and 200 IM (1:45.94)… member of the team-leading 400-free relay (2:53.98) that placed sixth at Big Tens.

2019-20 — Posted an NCAA “B” qualifying time in the 200 back (1:43.83)… led the team in the 100 back (48.25) and was second in 200 back (1:43.83)… scored in the 200 back at the Big Ten Championships, placing 12th (1:43.83)… posted collegiate bests in 50 free (21.40), 200 free (1:37.27), 500 free (4:33.21), 100 back (48.25), 200 back (1:43.83), 100 breast (57.14), 100 fly (49.01), and 200 IM (1:47.20).

High School — All-American as a senior… two-time all-state and two-time all-conference selection… team MVP as a senior… selected as Glenbrook’s top male athlete in 2019… state champion in 200 IM and 100 backstroke as a senior… also placed sixth in medley relay, helping team to a 10th place finish… school record holder in the 100 back, 200 IM, 100 free, 500 free, and 200-medley and 400-free relay… top times are: 48.92 (100 back), 1:49.44 (200 IM), 45.70 (100 free), 1:38.76 (200 free), and 1:47.14 (200 back)… also played football through junior season, earning all-conference and all-area honors as a center… high school coaches were Jarod Schroeder and Steve Iida.

Personal — Born May 17, 2001, in Chicago… son of Matt and Kelly Purdy… father, Matt, played football at the University of Iowa and he’s the head football coach, athletic director, and strength & conditioning coach at Glenbrook High School… mother, Kelly, is a gymnastics coach… has an older sister, Jordyn… majoring in health and human physiology.
