#33 Riley Burns Season 2021-22

2021 Honors – Big Ten Distinguished Scholar… Academic All-Big Ten honors… letterwinner. 2021 – Saw action in nine games… logging 131 minutes… scored one goal with all four of her shots on target… her sole goal came in the 2-0 victory over Kansas City (9/9)… helped lead Iowa’s offence to average nearly a goal an a half every game.

2020 Honors – Academic All-Big Ten selection… named to the Dean’s List during the fall and spring semesters. 2020 – Did not see any game action.

2019 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten… named to the Dean’s List during the spring semester. 2019 — Saw action in 17 games with one start… logged 420 minutes… attempted five shots with three being on goal… member of an Iowa defense that had eight shutouts and allowed seven or fewer shots in 13 games.

2018 Honors — Named to the Dean’s List during the fall and spring semesters. 2018 — Saw action in 12 games and started twice… recorded a shot on goal against Maryland (9/14)… letterwinner.

High School — Defensive Player of the Year as a senior… named a TopDrawerSoccer Spring Sport State Star… three-time all-conference and two-time all-area selection… all-sectional honoree as a senior… team MVP as a sophomore… team captain as a junior and senior… missed junior season because of injury… scored nine career goals and tallied career 15 assists… led team to a 58-10-10 record as a freshman, sophomore, and senior and to GCAC and regional titles… played club soccer for FC United UC13-17, where she was team captain… was a 2017 Phoenix President’s Day Tournament finalist, 2016 San Diego Surf Cup semifinalist, and 2016 CASL Showcase champion… also a member of the U-18 FC United Developmental Academy Team… played on the Illinois ODP team for five years, helping team to a 2016 title… also played in Region 2 ODP ID Camp in 2016… Loyola Honors Scholar from 2015-18… Summa Cum Laude honors recipient in 2018… high school coach was Craig Snower… club coaches were Craig Snower and John Soltani.

Personal — Born March 18, 2000… daughter of Bill and Heidi Burns… has three siblings — Corey, Johnny, and Devin… Corey played soccer at Iowa from 2013-17 and Devin from 2016-19… health and human physiology major.
