Kira has been the Director of Sports Nutrition for the University of Iowa Athletics Department since October 2022. Prior to transitioning into the director role, she served as the Assistant Director for three years and was a staff sports dietitian from 2018-2019. Additionally, Kira works part-time as a clinical RD at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has worked as a clinical RD since 2018.
A native of Iowa, she received a Bachelor’s of Dietetics in 2015, completed her dietetic internship in 2018, and will graduate with a Master of Professional Practice in Dietetics from Iowa State University in December 2024. She currently serves as the Marketing Co-Chair of the Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association, and the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians.
