Anna Kayser

Anna Kayser is in her first year as director of social media and digital strategy for University of Iowa Athletics.

Before returning to Iowa City, Kayser worked in a variety of roles for more than five years for Minor League Baseball’s Indianapolis Indians. For the previous 15 months, Kayser served as its deputy director of communications for the Indians. The native of Waverly, Iowa, also was the organization’s communications coordinator from 2020-22 and communications manager from 2022-24.

Kayser was a double major at the University of Iowa, earning bachelor’s degrees in journalism & mass communication and sport & recreation management in December 2019. While a student, Kayser was a sports reporter for The Daily Iowan, covering multiple sports, including serving as lead men’s wrestling reporter during the 2018-19 season.

In addition to directing UI’s social media and digital strategy for all 22 sports, Kayser serves as the communications supervisor for UI women’s wrestling and women’s tennis.
