Noah Shannon

TitleAssistant Director, Player Development

Former Hawkeye, Noah Shannon, is in his second year as assistant director of player development with the University of Iowa football program. He most recently worked as a defensive student assistant with the Hawkeyes.

The native of Aurora, Illinois, was a two-time honorable mention all-conference, starting all 27 games at defensive tackle in 2021 and 2022. Shannon totaled 107 career tackles, including 47 in 2021 and 44 in 2022. He amassed 8.5 tackles for loss, tying for second most on the team, while his 6.5 sacks tied for the most last season. Shannon was honored with the team’s defensive Team Hustle Award in 2021 and Hayden Fry Award a year ago. 

Shannon started at defensive tackle in all 14 games in 2021, recording 47 tackles (21 solo, 26 assists), with two QB sacks and three QB pressures. In 2022, he was a starter in all 13 games, recording 44 tackles (24 solo, 20 assists), including 8.5 tackles for a loss, two QB sacks and three QB pressures.

Shannon redshirted his first year in 2018, before playing in seven games in 2019 and all eight contests in 2020.
