Scott Brickman is the associate athletics director and senior director development at the University of Iowa. In this role, he helps drive the department’s overall strategy while leading strategic initiatives for NIL revenue operations — providing senior leadership to athletics fundraising, NIL and revenue operations in close partnership with the UI Center for Advancement, UI Ticketing, Learfield, marketing and communications and The Swarm Collective.
A member of director of athletics Beth Goetz’s senior leadership team, Brickman helps shape the department’s highest-level priorities. Since stepping into the role in 2025, he has helped guide Iowa’s development team to a record-breaking philanthropic year, surpassing $106.1 million in gifts, while personally securing an additional $4.6 million in “above the cap” NIL agreements for Iowa student-athletes — including an agreement that brought the Savannah Bananas to Kinnick Stadium for two nights.
Brickman’s path to this role runs through nearly a decade in Iowa’s development office and NIL revenue operations. As associate director and later director of development, he built and managed a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, helped lead fundraising for the $90 million Kinnick Stadium renovation and $18 million baseball stadium project, working closely with the university’s academic and administrative leadership to secure gifts across campus. Between 2017 and 2021, he generated several million dollars annually in philanthropic support for capital campaigns, endowed and annual scholarships, and student-athlete academic programs. He also spent two years as executive vice president and COO of The Swarm Collective, where he oversaw day-to-day operations and a $5.1 million annual budget during the organization’s launch and early growth.
From 2023-25, Brickman served as general manager of strategies and revenue generation for Altius Sports Partners, leading Iowa’s external unit leaders in NIL and revenue generation.
Before moving into administration, Brickman spent four seasons (2013–17) as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Iowa, helping lead the program to a Big Ten Championship and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. He previously served as head baseball coach at Belmont Abbey College and in assistant coaching roles at the University of Northern Iowa and Wofford College. Brickman is a four-year letterwinner and graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.
