Tanner Krueger

TitleOffensive Graduate Student Coach

Tanner Krueger is in his second year with the University of Iowa football program. After serving as an offensive graduate assistant coach in 2024, he is an analyst in 2025.

Iowa won eight games, tied for fifth in the expanded Big Ten Conference, and earned an invitation to the 2024 Music City Bowl. Krueger was on the staff that worked with consensus All-American running back Kaleb Johnson.

Krueger joined the Iowa staff after serving four years on the Wayne State College (WSC) football staff. He coached the wide receivers in 2023, mentoring a first-team all-league and Offensive Newcomer of the Year for the conference. Krueger worked with the running backs in 2022 and tight ends his first two years as a graduate assistant. Other roles included serving as the travel coordinator and video coordinator.

Krueger played quarterback at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. A four-year lettermen and two-year starter, he was a team captain and was an all-conference honoree his junior and senior seasons.

Krueger earned his bachelor’s degree in sports communication at Simpson and master’s in organizational management at WSC.

Krueger is an Iowa native, graduating from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 2016.
