As of July 1, 2021, student-athletes competing in NCAA intercollegiate athletics are permitted to receive compensation for the use of their name, image or likeness (NIL) for commercial activities, including endorsements through traditional and social media, appearances, entrepreneurial activities, in-kind deals, autographs and more, and have the ability to retain an agent or attorney relating to this compensation in accordance with NCAA guidelines and Iowa Athletics’ NIL policies.

Yes. Student-athletes will be considered contractual 1099 employees.
No, you cannot utilize any photos and videos from the UI Athletics Department in paid partnerships without approval from the Trademark and Licensing Office. This includes content provided via INFLCR or gathered from any other outlet. You cannot make any alterations to photos and videos generated by the UI Athletics Department.
The marketplace allows supporters to access student-athletes and offers NIL opportunities. The marketplace gives Iowa fans, brands, and sponsors the ability to browse, book, pitch and pay any Hawkeye student-athletes for NIL activities.
There are many ways to partner with athletes such as appearances, autographs, endorsements, etc.
