Hawkeyes Take Four at Hoosier Classic

Bloomington, IN -- The Iowa women’s tennis team won two singles matches and two doubles matches during the first day of the Hoosier Classic.

Freshman Hillary Mintz defeated Marry Barry of Missouri in Flight C singles, moving to the semi-finals. Hilary Tyler won her Flight E singles match against Lucie Ruskova of Missouri, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles, Tyler and Mintz won their first match against Spencer and Leeper of Murray State, but lost to Kansuthi and Lincarn of Eastern Michigan. Gloria Okino and Jennifer Hodgman lost their doubles match against Barry and Josbena of Missouri, 8-1, and came back to win their next match, 8-3, to Eber and Laszkowski of Louisville.

The Hawkeyes will continue the Hoosier Classic Saturday and Sunday.
