The Iowa women’s tennis team lost to No. 30 Indiana, 7-0, Saturday afternoon. The Hawkeyes drop to 11-7 overall, 4-4 in the Big Ten.
In doubles, the team of Anastasia Zhukova and Deni Alexandrova beat Laura McGaffigan and Dora Vastag, 8-4. The Hoosiers were able to take doubles matches at the No. 1 and 3 spots, giving them the doubles point.
In singles, the Hawkeyes took three matches to the third set. At the No. 1 spot, Meg Racette lost to 38th-nationally ranked Dora Vastag, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Hillary Mintz was defeated at the No. 2 spot by Linda Tran, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5. At No. 6 singles, Hilary Tyler lost to Cecile Perton, 6-0, 1-6, 7-6 (7).
The Hawkeyes will compete next when they travel to Ohio State Friday.
