The Iowa women’s tennis team dominated Minnesota, winning 4-0 during the first day of the Big Ten tournament.
The Hawkeyes secured the doubles points with wins at the No. 2 spot by Deni Alexandrova and Anastasia Zhukova and at the No. 3 position by Chelsea Glynn and Hilary Tyler. In singles, Tyler easily defeated Emily Bezek at the No. 6 position, 6-0, 6-0. Alexandrova won against Megan Steiger, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 5 spot. Freshman Hillary Mintz defeated Nischela Reddy, 6-1, 6-2, to tie the school record for most wins by a freshman. The remainder of the games were abandoned once Iowa was guaranteed the win.
The Hawkeyes will take on Indiana tomorrow beginning at 10 a.m.
