Hawkeyes in Sixth at Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, IN – The University of Iowa women’s golf team shot a 36-hole total of 621 to finish the first day of competition in sixth in the 15-team Indiana Invitational. Michigan State is currently leading the tournament after posting a score of 605.

Leading the way for the Hawkeyes is junior Liz Bennett. Bennett carded a 152, which ties her for ninth. Junior Shannon Fleming is currently tied for 16th with a two-round total of 155. Senior Jennifer Reints shot a 157 to tie for 24th. Freshman Virginie Bonfils is tied for 41st after carding a 161. Senior Laura Holmes shot a 162, good enough for a tie for 46th. Freshman Amy Riepma shot a 36-hole total of 167, which puts her in 73rd.

The Hawkeyes will continue competition tomorrow with the final 18 holes to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30.
