IOWA CITY – The Big Ten Conference has announced that eight University of Iowa baseball players have been named to the 2004 spring Academic all-Conference team. Seniors Brent Jackson, Nathan Johnson and Jim Reid; juniors Tim Gudex, Aaron Reasland and Austin Seward; along with sophomores Ryan Dupic and Mike Mogard earned spots on the team.
To be eligible for an academic all-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
“We are obviously very proud to have eight student-athletes honored by the Big Ten. It’s a great accomplishmen for all of them,” Head Coach Jack Dahm said. “We’ve had a good year academiclly as a team, including some guys that may not have made the Academic All-Big Ten team, but made good progress.”
