This Week
The University of Iowa women’s tennis team will travel to Bloomington, Indiana, October 8-10 for the Hoosier Classic. Competition will take place at the IU Tennis Center and the Varsity Tennis Courts.
The Competition
Six teams are competing in the Hoosier Classic. Along with Iowa and Indiana, teams participating are Murray State, LSU, Missouri and Kansas State.
Indiana’s Dora Vastag is ranked 38th in singles, while also being ranked 31st in doubles with Sarah Batty. Amanda Mang of LSU is ranked 120th in singles, and Maria Rosenberg of Kansas State ranks 105th in singles.
At Furman Fall Classic
The Hawkeyes netted 13 wins during the Furman Fall Classic. Anastasia Zhukova placed third in flight three singles, while Milica Veselinovic finished third in flight four singles. In doubles, Megan Racette and Hillary Mintz placed fourth in flight one doubles, the highest Hawkeye finish.
The Lineup
The Hoosier Classic has six flights of singles and three doubles flights. Here is the projected Hawkeye lineup:

Racette & Mintz Travel to L.A.
Sophomores Megan Racette and Hillary Mintz are competing in the Riviera All-American Tournament in Los Angeles, October 2-10.
Mintz won two matches in the pre-qualifying rounds before losing to UCLA’s Laura Gordon, 6-2, 6-4.
Racette is set to play Anca Anastasiu of USC in one of the qualifying rounds. Anastasiu is the sixth-seed in the qualifying bracket. Together, Racette and Mintz will take on USC’s Nicole Lelmback and Carine Vermuelen in one of the qualifying rounds of doubles.
Hawkeyes In the Rankings
In the ITA Preseason Poll, Megan Racette is ranked 79th in singles. Along with Hillary Mintz, they are ranked 23rd in doubles.
