MILWAUKEE, WI – The 57th-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team swept Bowling Green, 7-0, Saturday afternoon. The Hawkeyes improve to 4-2 overall.
In doubles, Iowa dominated the Falcons. At the No. 1 position, 55th-ranked Hillary Mintz and Meg Racette defeated Susie Schoenberger and Heidi Romer, 8-4. Anastasia Zhukova and Hilary Tyler won against Jenna Nussbaum and Ashley Jakupcin, 8-2. At the No. 3 spot, Jacqueline Lee and Morgan Tuttle quickly downed Cameron Benjamin and Andrea Meister, 8-1.
Mintz and Zhukova extended both their singles records to 8-0 (6-0 dual match) this spring. Mintz defeated Jakupcin, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 2 position, while Zhukova won against Nussbaum, 6-2, 6-3. Lee swept Meister at the No. 5 spot, 6-0, 6-0. Tuttle dominated Benjamin, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6. Milica Veselinovic emerged victorious against Romer, 6-1, 6-2, while Racette also won her match against Schoenberger, 6-2, 6-2.
The Hawkeyes will next compete Sunday, February 27 at Notre Dame.
