ABILENE, TX
The 60th-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team dominated No. 11* Abilene Christian, 7-0, Sunday afternoon. The Hawkeyes improve to 7-3 overall.
The Hawkeyes swept the doubles point. Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz downed Summer Beesley and Rachel Taylor, 8-2. At No. 2 doubles, Anastasia Zhukova and Hilary Tyler only allowed Holly Lindloff and Joy Israel one game, winning 8-1. Morgan Tuttle and Jacqueline Lee defeated Meagan Brown and Lauren Yarbrough, 8-3.
In singles, Iowa swept the Wildcats, winning all matches in two sets. Zhukova extended her dual record to 9-1 with a win over Ashley Hawk-Caperton, 6-3, 6-4. Racette defeated Summer Beesley at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-2. Mintz earned a victory against Rachel Taylor, 6-2, 6-0. At the No. 4 spot, Milica Veselinovic downed Lana Pavlin, 6-3, 6-1. Hilary Tyler ousted Lindloff, 6-0, 6-2. At the No. 6 spot, Lee defeated Brown, 6-0, 6-1.
The Hawkeyes return to action Wednesday, March 16 at Baylor.
