The 62nd-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team fell to 17th-ranked Baylor, 6-1, Wednesday evening. The Hawkeyes fall to 7-4 overall.
In doubles, the duo of Anastasia Zhukova and Hilary Tyler extended their win streak to seven, defeating Caroline Korsawe and Zuzana Cerna, 8-6. At No. 3 doubles, Milica Veselinovic and Morgan Tuttle lost a heartfelt tiebreaker to Zuzana Krchnakova and Iva Mihaylova, 9-8 (4).
In singles, Veselinovic defeated Iva Mihaylova, 6-0, 6-3, for Iowa’s lone point. At the No. 1 spot, Meg Racette took No. 21 Zuzana Zemenova into a tiebreaker third set, but finally lost, 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (8).
The Hawkeyes will next compete Friday, March 18 at TCU.
