FORT WORTH, TX —

The 62nd-ranked Iowa women’s tennis team fell to 21st-ranked TCU, 5-2, Friday afternoon. The Hawkeyes played strong tennis but were unable to gain the upper-hand against the Horned Frogs. Iowa drops to 7-5 overall.

In doubles, the duo of Anastasia Zhukova and Hilary Tyler stretched their win streak to eight, defeating Helena Besovic and Andrea Morgado, 8-4, at the No. 2 position. Meg Racette and Hillary Mintz fell to 52nd-ranked Ana Cetnik and Story Tweedie-Yates, 8-5. At No. 3 doubles, Milica Veselinovic and Jacqueline Lee were strong against Paige Brown and Karla Mancinas, but fell, 8-4.

Lee went on to win her singles match at the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 6-1, against Mancinas. Veselinovic earned a victory against Gloriann Lopez, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 4 position.

The Hawkeyes will return to action when they host Ohio State Friday, March 25.
