GymHawks Defeated By Cyclones

AMES, IA — The No. 38 Iowa women’s gymnastics team traveled to Iowa State today for their final regular season meet. The meet was the final event in the Cy-Hawk series. No. 4 Iowa State defeated Iowa, 197.275-194.225.

On vault, senior Kortny Williamson placed highest for the Hawkeyes, with a third-place 9.875. Jennifer Simbhudas tied for seventh in the event with a 9.775.

On bars, Iowa State took the top five spots, and Iowa senior Liz Grajewski took the sixth spot with a 9.725. Brandi Loffer placed seventh with a 9.7, and Katie Burke placed eighth with a 9.675.

Danielle Legeai had the highest placing for the Hawkeyes tying for first on beam with a score of 9.925. Simbhudas came in fifth on the event with a 9.875 while Willamson tied for sixth with a score of 9.825.

On floor, Grajewski tied for second with a 9.9, while Ally Zipse and Williamson tied at seventh with a 9.775. Burke and Loffer tied for ninth place with a 9.75.

In the all-around, Grajewski placed fourth with a 38.800.

The Hawkeyes return to action March 25th at Big Ten Championship competition, held in East Lansing, MI.
