NORMAN, OK –
The University of Iowa women’s track team concluded competition at the John Jacobs Invitational today, in Norman, OK. Three Hawkeye student-athletes set collegiate bests during the meet.
Aditya Jones bettered her collegiate mark in the 400 meter-hurdles with a time of 1:01.80, less than one second away from a regional qualifying time. Joining Jones with a new collegiate best was Sophia Ponce in the 800 meters (2:15.50), and Kara-Aretha Graham in the 200 meters (25.05).
Becca Franklin and Renee White each finished fourth in their respected events. Franklin had a respectable toss of 178-2 in the hammer throw and White had a leap of 18-9 in the long jump.
The Hawkeyes next competition will be in Iowa City on Saturday, April 21, as The University of Iowa will be hosting the Musco Twilight IX meet.
