Team Awards Announced

• The Big Ten Network: Programming Schedule

University of Iowa Track Coach Larry Wieczorek announced the award winners from the 2006-07 cross country and track seasons at the team’s annual awards banquet this week.

Senior Micah VanDenend was named most valuable competitor and outstanding distance runner, while also taking home the Deacon Jones outstanding cross country runner award. He also served as a team captain for both the track and cross country squads. Freshman Ray Varner was named most dedicated student-athlete and outstanding freshman competitor.
