Assistant Men's Basketball Coach

The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for three assistant men’s basketball coaches. These are full-time, 12-month positions, salary commensurate and include full University benefits.

The successful candidates will assist in the coaching and administration of a Division I men’s intercollegiate basketball program, recruit as permitted by NCAA rules and perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent required. Other required qualifications include: Collegiate playing or collegiate coaching experience; demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; superior communication skills, effective organization, and administrative skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Desired skills include some combination of the following: experience playing at the elite level or a minimum of three years successful Division I coaching experience; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment or demonstrated success in recruiting diverse populations at the collegiate level or demonstrated success in recruiting at the Division I level; experience as a successful Division I recruiting coordinator and/or superior technical and tactical knowledge and/or exceptional physical training experience in one or more areas; superior public relations skills or strong computer skills. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the player development and recruiting needs of the men’s basketball program.
