DES MOINES, Iowa – The University of Iowa women’s tennis team concluded the annual Drake Jamboree in Des Moines on Sunday afternoon.
Taylor Tamblyn won her singles match defeating Claudia Toledo of Iowa State University, 6-3, 6-2, she won her singles flight for the tournament. Adorabol Huckleby and Tamblyn defeated Tere-Apisah and Ives of Illinois State in doubles on Sunday as well. Montana Crawford and Carin Runefelt got a doubles win against Cirnu and Panaite of Kansas State, 6-4.
“Overall, we played a lot of matches and saw a lot of improvements from everyone, said UI assistant coach Denise Dy. ” Everyone had great wins in singles and competed well in the doubles. Taylor had a great showing, winning her flight at number four singles.”
The Hawkeyes will return to action on Friday, October, 30.
