TUSCALOOSA, Alabama — Montana Crawford and Carin Runefelt fell just short in the final round of doubles on Saturday afternoon in Alabama at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic. The duo went 2-1 for doubles matches at the two-day tournament.
“We gained valuable match experience this weekend. Came up a little short in the finals of doubles, but played well to get there,” said UI head coach Katie Dougherty. “Looking forward to our final fall tournament next weekend with the entire team, to gauge how far we’ve come this fall and what we need to do heading into the off season.”
In the second round of doubles Crawford and Runefelt defeated Corder and Ragon of UAB, 6-3. Hawkeyes return to tournament action for their final tournament of the fall season at the Western Michigan Bronco Invitational in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
