HEAR FROM COACH SHYMANSKY
“We did a good job of rebounding today after such a tough match against Coastal Carolina that extended pretty much until our warm up time for the Indiana State match. It took a lot for our group to find the energy and the communication that they needed to work together as a group. It was definitely sloppy and pretty uninspired at the beginning, and Indiana State made us pay, so kudos to them for doing that. Then we righted the ship. I thought Brie Orr really had to dig deep; it was a long weekend, especially for a young player. She did a lot of running around out there as our setter and really competed well and put up a lot of great balls. Jess Janota took over there and did a really good job of bringing her best intensity over the course of the weekend.”

“We have another tournament next weekend on September 8th and 9th, and I’m really looking forward to that. It’s definitely a highlight on our non-conference schedule to play the Cyclones at home. We play Iowa State on Friday night at Carver at 7 p.m., and I really want people here to help support us. I think the crowd we had this weekend was really great and it can continue to grow and I know our women really feed off of that.”
