IOWA CITY, Iowa — Season tickets for the University of Iowa softball season are on sale now. Single game tickets for the season go on sale on Feb. 1.
The Hawkeyes host four Big Ten foes and the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series in 2019. Iowa opens up at Pearl Field on March 27 against Western Illinois at 7 p.m. (CT).
Iowa enters 2019 with a revamped coaching staff led by head coach Renee Gillispie.
Gillispie, a native Iowan, returns to the state after 18 years as the head coach at UCF where she compiled a record of 625-403-1 (.608), won five conference championships, and advanced to seven NCAA Regionals, including four straight regional final appearances. Gillispie is joined by assistant coaches Trena Prater, Rick Dillinger, and Lori Duncan.
Prater is a former All-American at LSU and assistant at UCF under Gillispie in 2018, Dillinger is a 42-year Iowa high school softball coaching veteran and three-time state champion at Adel-Desoto-Minburn, North Polk Community, and Danville Community, and Duncan is a former assistant coach at LSU and head coach at Pleasant Valley High School.
