IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa track and field program had a total of 11 athletes, eight men and three women, named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic teams, the USTFCCCA announced Thursday.
Jenny Kimbro, Mallory King and Tia Saunders earned the honor for the women’s team, and Grant Conway, Will Daniels, Peyton Haack, Tyler Lienau, Matt Manternach, Gratt Reed, Tysen VanDraska, and Austin West were named to the men’s team.
To qualify academically:
- minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.
- completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the nominating institution.
To qualify athletically:
- For the indoor season: must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I descending order lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field.
The University of Iowa men’s and women’s track team both earned the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honor as well. The men’s team finished with a cumulative 3.03 GPA and the women’s team with a 3.32.
