QUOTING COACH WOODY:
“This was a great weekend for Iowa men’s and women’s track and field. After taking a week off for most of our team, it was great to get back out there and compete. I thought our team made some great strides forward today. For the women it was great to see Nia Britt put some great throws together in the weight throw. Overall, the women had a great day on the track, especially our younger athletes. The freshmen women were led by Paige Magee’s big career best and win in the 60-meter hurdles. Tesa Roberts debut was great as she ran a top eight Big Ten time in the 400 meters. Clare Pitcher ran very well with a career best and third place finish in the 600 meters. The men continued to make some great moves this weekend as well. In the field events we got some great performances in the shot put from Elijah Barnes who recorded a big career best and is currently ranked top eight in the Big Ten.”
“We have an long tradition of success in the hurdle events, and we expect to compete to win the hurdle races. So, it’s always good to sweep the men’s and women’s hurdle events against some great competition.”
