Brown Named CGA Specialist of the Week

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa junior Stewart Brown has been named the College Gymnastics Association Specialist of the Week, it was announced Thursday by the CGA.

The Taylorsville, North Carolina, native earned the distinction after scoring a 14.900 on vault in Iowa’s victory over Nebraska. The score was a career-best and the second-highest score in the nation this season (behind four 14.950s). It also ranks as the third-highest score in school history.

Brown won the vault in the meet and he added career-bests on pommel (12.400) and still rings (13.200) en route to a fourth-place finish in the all-around.

The Hawkeyes will return to action April 3, traveling to Lincoln, Nebraska, to compete in the 2021 Big Ten Championships at Pinnacle Arena, beginning at 7 p.m. (CT). The meet will be televised on BTN.
