IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa soccer team will host nine regular season games at the Iowa Soccer Complex during the 2023 season. The complete schedule includes 18 regular season games and two exhibition contests.
The Hawkeyes will play two road exhibitions, kicking off fall competition on Aug. 5 at South Dakota before heading to Des Moines, Iowa, for an exhibition against Drake.
Iowa starts the regular season at Florida Gulf Coast on Aug. 17 before hosting Kansas City on Aug. 20 to open the home slate. That will be the beginning of a three-game home stand that includes the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series opener vs. Iowa State, Aug. 24.
Big Ten Conference play begins Sept. 17 against Illinois at the Iowa Soccer Complex.
The Hawkeyes return several key starters from last season’s squad, including junior Elle Otto, who led the team with five assists and was second in total offense with 11 points. She is joined by veterans like returning senior captain Samantha Cary and seventh-year Josie Durr. Iowa welcomes a class of 12 incoming freshmen.
