Iowa Sends 4 to Soldier Salute Semifinals

CORALVILLE, Iowa — The University of Iowa men’s wrestling team will send four athletes into Saturday morning’s Soldier Salute semifinals at Xtream Arena.

The Hawkeyes will be represented in the championship bracket at four different weight classes, looking to advance to Saturday night’s finals at 141, 157, 174 and 197 pounds.

Nasir Bailey captured the win at 141 over Nick O’Neill of UNC, recording a tough 3-1 decision. Jordan Williams won his match at 157 against UNI’s Cael Rahnavardi, taking a late lead to advance, 8-6.

Gabe Arnold won at 174, downing Wyoming’s Lane Foard, 5-1. Harvey Ludington finished off quarterfinal competition with a 2-1 win over Anthony Harris of Oklahoma, finding a reversal in the last 45 seconds to take the match.

Session III of the Soldier Salute will begin at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday. The action will be streamed live on B1G+.
