Notes: Hawkeyes Host Loras on Wednesday

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa baseball team welcomes Loras to Duane Banks Field on Tuesday for a midweek matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 4:02 p.m. (CDT), and admission is $5.

The Hawkeyes enter the contest with a 7-4 record, while the DuHawks sit at 3-3 on the season.

As a team, Loras is hitting .285, while its pitching staff has a 7.24 ERA. The DuHawks are led by Colin Kissane, who is batting .458. Kissane leads the team with four home runs, while Vince Polizzi leads the team with four doubles. Vincent Costantino leads the Loras pitching staff with a 0.90 ERA, allowing just one earned run and owning a 1–0 record. 

Iowa is hitting .349 overall with 104 runs scored. Caleb Wulf leads the Hawkeyes with a .512 batting average, totaling 22 hits and three doubles. Gable Mitchell has scored 16 runs while batting .512. Max Burt is hitting .409 with nine hits and eight runs. 

The Hawkeye pitching staff has a 5.87 ERA after the first three weekends. RHP Logan Runde leads the group with a 4.00 ERA over 9.0 innings pitched and a team-high 10 strikeouts. RHP Nick Terhaar follows with a 5.68 ERA and six strikeouts in 6.1 innings, allowing four earned runs.

Iowa is 18-2 all-time against the DuHawks. The teams first met in 1971 and the teams last met a season ago with Iowa winning 11-3.
